Proficiency & Skating System
The proficiency method of judging will be used for all Teacher/Student Single Dance Events. This method is similar to that which is seen at the Olympics for subjective sports. In essence the adjudicator's scores are added and averaged after removing the 'highest' and 'lowest'.
In DanceSport this type of system is treated like a 'Medal' Exam. Only the student will be assessed and given a mark out of 100 by each adjudicator.
The adjudicator's Tablets will display the 'Age Group' for which the assessment will be made this allows for mixed Age Groups to be on the floor at the same time. This is necessary as there may be Teachers who will partner more than one student in the same Age Group.
The skating system of judging is the method used in most Dancesport events, where couples are placed in an Adjudicators 'Order of Preference' for the event being judged.
All events other than the Teacher/Student events shall be marked using the Skating System.
